Who we are

This website belongs to The Anchorage, Dungeon & Asylum ("The Anchorage", "we", "us"), a private, adults-only venue business with locations in New Jersey (The Dungeon) and Massachusetts (The Asylum, coming soon). This page explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the terms for using the site. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.

Adults only

This website and our venues are for adults aged 18 and over. When you first visit, we ask you to confirm that you are 18 or older. If you are under 18, please leave this site.

What this site is

This site is informational. It describes our brand, our locations, our facilities, our partners and our news, and it lets you contact us or apply for entry. It contains no explicit material. Nothing on this site is an offer of any service, nothing is sold, booked or paid for through it, and there are no member accounts.

What we collect and why

• Applications: your name, email address, phone number (optional), your Bluesky and Twitter/X handles (optional), preferred location, any message you choose to include, your confirmation that you are 18 or older, and your consent to be replied to by email. We use this only to review your application and reply to you.

• Contact messages: your name, email address and message, used only to reply to you.

• Technical information: your IP address is used briefly to limit repeated form submissions and protect the site from abuse. Our hosting provider may also record IP addresses, browser type and pages requested in standard logs used for security and troubleshooting.

Please don't include anything in a form that you wouldn't want to send by email. We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or build profiles about you.

How long we keep it

Form submissions are sent by email to our private inbox. By default, the website does not keep a copy. If we switch on our "keep a copy" setting, submissions are stored on our server for 30 days and then deleted automatically. Emails in our inbox are kept only as long as we need them to handle your application or question. Rate-limiting data is held for a short time only, and server logs for a limited period for security.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We use a small number of service providers who handle data on our behalf, only to run this site: our web hosting provider and our email provider. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our guests, our partners or our venues.

Cookies and local storage

We use only the cookies this site needs to work: a session cookie and a security cookie (XSRF-TOKEN) that protects our forms from misuse. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or social media trackers. When you confirm you are 18 or older, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage (under the name "anchorage.entered") so you aren't asked again. It stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

We don't track visitors across other websites, so the site doesn't change its behaviour in response to "Do Not Track" browser signals. We don't allow advertisers or social networks to track your activity through this website.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@theanchorage.us. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to confirm your identity first. Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you additional rights, and we will honour them where they apply.

Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we learn that a minor has sent us information, we will delete it.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), keep stored data to a minimum, and limit access to our partners. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please share only what you need to.

Links to other sites

This site links to our partners' social media and creator accounts on third-party platforms, some of which are intended for adults. Those platforms have their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

Using this site

• Eligibility: you must be 18 or older and legally able to view this site where you live.

• No offer or contract: the information here is general and may change. It is not an offer, and nothing here creates a membership or agreement.

• Entry by application: entry to our venues is by application only and at our sole discretion. We may decline or withdraw any application without giving a reason. Availability, dates and facilities are not guaranteed.

• Conduct: our venues are built on consent, safety and respect. Venue rules, and any agreement or release you sign on the premises, apply to every visit. Nothing on this site replaces them.

• Our content: our name, logo, photographs and text belong to us or are used with permission. Please don't copy or reuse them without our written permission.

• No warranties: this site is provided "as is". We try to keep it accurate and available, but we don't guarantee that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

• Limitation of liability: to the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website.

• Governing law: these terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to their conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your home state requires otherwise.

Changes to this page

We may update this page from time to time. When we do, we change the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
